Tali Cocoa Farmers Cooperative Society (Tacofacoop-bod) Bakebe Village is an agricultural Cooperative Society which constitutes a group of forty (40) local farmers of men, women, and youths within Tali Village area in Upper Banyang Sub Division, South West Region of Cameroon, who returned to the soil and carrying out agricultural Ventures to increase food production, enhance food security, improve income earnings and be Self-reliant to boost the economy of the country. Taking also into consideration the potential possibilities to export surpluses, the local farmers decided to create the Tali Cocoa Farmers Cooperative Society (Tacofacoop-bod) with its head office located in Tali 1 Village, Upper Banyang Sub Division. This agricultural Cooperative Society was authorised to start functioning on 27th April, 2021 by the Cameroon government, through the South West Regional Delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development - the Registry of South West Regional Delegation Office for Cooperatives and Common Initiative Groups (CIGs), Buea under Registration Number 21/026/CMR/SW/ 54/287/CCA/001009000, governed by the OHADA Uniform Act on the Rights of Cooperative Societies adopted at Lome-Togo on December 15th 2010, and all national Laws regulating the functioning of Cooperative Societies in Cameroon for a life Span of 99 years. Tacofacoop-bod’s initial Share Capital stood at Eight Hundred (800.000) Fcfa with its main activity being the Marketing of cocoa beans produce, while oil palm, poultry, pig production, plantain and vegetable farming being secondary activities as expansion is carried out over the years to come. Unfortunately, Tali Cocoa Farmers Cooperative Society (Tacofacoop-bod)’s smooth functioning was impacted during its early years of creation by the socio-political crisis which erupted in the two English-Speaking Regions of Cameroon, where Upper Banyang Sub Division was not left out. With intended consultations between the South West Regional Delegation of Agriculture and Rural Development officials and Tacofacoop-bod, a decision was reached to relocate it's office to Bakebe Village for security reasons - a junction village with improved transport connectivity along the Kumba-Mamfe tarred highway road seen as a corridor to attract investment and support large-scale agricultural production
